With its natural beauty, the enchanting castle, the old town and the
river Neckar between the mountains, Heidelberg is thought of as one of the
prettiest cities in Germany. Like Mark Twain put it in 1878:
"I have never
enjoyed a view which had such a serene and satisfying charm about it as this one
gives."

The pretty scenery may entice you to take a nice walk. The Philosopher's
Walk is a very popular destination, as it offers a beautiful view of the
castle and of the old town of Heidelberg. The walk derives its name from the fact that Heidelberg's
philosophers such as Eichendorff, Hölderlin or Goethe have once walked and discussed
there.
Heidelberg offers a wide variety of restaurants, cafés and bars. If you wish you
could choose one from this list.
